Frost Festival and Wigan Christmas Lights Switch-On at Wigan town centre and Mesnes Park is on Sunday 22 November 2026, about 40 minutes' drive from Timperley. Free, no need to book, good for most ages, outdoors.
Wigan's Frost Festival is the town centre's Christmas launch. Christmas markets and a funfair fill Standishgate, Santa joins a parade from Mesnes Park into the centre, and the main stage runs through the afternoon before the town's lights are switched on. It falls on the last day of Light Night Wigan, so the free town-centre light trail is on the same weekend.
