Privacy
You don't need an account to use Timperley Families, and we don't use tracking cookies. This page explains what happens to your information.

Who's responsible
Timperley Families is responsible for your information. Email [email protected] about anything on this page.
What stays on your phone
Your settings are saved in your own browser. We can't see them, and they aren't sent to us:
- your home postcode or area, used to work out drive times
- the age groups you chose, and your SEN preference
- the events you've saved, booked or hidden
- small reminders, such as whether you've closed a notice
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of this. It also means your saved events won't follow you to a new phone.
Your postcode and location
If you type your postcode, it's sent to postcodes.io, a free postcode lookup service, to find where it is. If you tap to use your location, your phone asks your permission first, and your coordinates are sent to postcodes.io to find your postcode. Your full postcode and location aren't sent to us.
What we measure
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that doesn't use cookies, to see how the site is used. It records:
- pages viewed, the site you came from, and your device type, browser, country and general area
- what you tap, such as Book, Save, Share and links to other sites
- what you type into the site's search box
- if you set them: the first half of your postcode (such as WA15) and the age groups you chose
We use this only to improve the site. It isn't used to work out who you are, and we don't sell it or use it for advertising.
Other services
- Cloudflare hosts the site and handles its traffic, which means processing your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
- Other sites: when you tap a link to an organiser, booking site, WhatsApp or Maps, their own privacy policies apply.
- Email: if you email us, we use your message and address to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
Why we use your information
Our legal basis is legitimate interests: running the site, keeping it secure and improving it. Where you choose to share your location, it's based on your consent, which you can withdraw in your phone's settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Most of what we measure can't be linked to a person, so there may be nothing we can identify as yours. Email us and we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
The site is for parents and carers. We don't ask for children's names, birthdays or schools.
