A free, timed 5k every Saturday at 9am in Longford Park, Stretford, starting and finishing on the athletics track and looping past Pets' Corner and the adventure playground. Walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome, and it makes a good family outing for older children: under-11s must stay within arm's reach of a parent or guardian. Register once online and bring your barcode to get a time. There are toilets in the stadium, but parking is very limited, so the organisers ask people to walk, cycle or come by public transport. The Longford Café is in the park for afterwards.
