Urmston's newer parkrun: a free, timed 5k every Saturday at 9am around Kingsway Park, next to the George Carnall Community Hub on Lostock Road. The course is three laps, mostly on grass with short tarmac stretches, so it gets muddy in wet weather and trail-style shoes help. Families can walk, jog or run together; under-11s must stay within arm's reach of a parent or guardian. Register once online and bring your barcode. There are toilets in the leisure centre, plenty of free parking, and runners head to the hub for a coffee afterwards.
