Hale's second Christmas lights switch-on, run by the community group HaleWatch, is on Sunday 29 November with the lights going on at 4.30pm. Hale's lights are paid for by local businesses and residents rather than the council, and the organisers are raising money for this year's display. Last year's first switch-on was an afternoon of family entertainment in the village; this year's programme hasn't been announced yet.
