Father Christmas wanders the Bents store every day through the run-up to Christmas, stopping to say hello to children and pose for photos. There's no grotto booking or ticket: just look out for him while you're there. Hours vary by day, usually afternoons into early evening on weekdays and midday to 4pm at weekends, so check the day's slot before you set off.
