Charity Santa floats touring streets around Trafford and Cheshire before Christmas, with each route night by night as soon as it's published.

Partington Santa Sleigh

Wilmslow Round Table Santa Sleigh

Last year: Six evenings in December, one area a night with a local Scout or Beaver group, announced on Facebook on 6 December.

Santa sleighs are charity floats run by Rotary clubs, Round Tables and community groups: Santa rides a lit-up sleigh through residential streets in the early evening while volunteers collect for local causes. Routes are published street by street, usually from mid-November, and change on the night if it's wet or the roads are blocked.
Listen for the music: most floats play Christmas songs as they go, so you'll hear them a few streets away. Have some change ready for the collection buckets, and wrap up, as it can be a long wait on the doorstep. Where there's a live tracker, it's linked above.

Is there a Santa sleigh in Timperley, Altrincham or Sale?
We haven't found a street sleigh tour for Timperley, Altrincham, Hale or Sale published on the web. The nearest are in Partington, Stretford (around Victoria Park) and Lymm. If you know of one, please tell us.
When are the Santa sleigh routes published?
None of this year's full routes are out yet: most appear from mid-November, and we add them as they do. Last year Partington's appeared on 18 November, Bramhall's leaflet in mid-November, Lymm's around 1 December, and Stretford's and Wilmslow's in the first week of December.
What time does the Santa sleigh come round?
Most start between 5pm and 6pm and finish by about 8pm; Stretford's runs on Sunday afternoons from 4pm. Exact times are on each route when it's published, and some have a live tracker on the night.
