A weekend Christmas market at the Whitworth with more than 40 Black-owned businesses selling art, fashion, jewellery, skincare, books, homeware and plenty of food and drink. Music, dance and performance fill the Grand Hall, with more family activities still to be announced. It is free to drop in with no booking, and the gallery and park next door make it easy to turn into a longer visit with children.

- No car park listed; approach via Denmark Road to avoid the Oxford Road bus gates. Oxford Road station is 25 minutes' walk.

- Step-free throughout with lifts, plus six coin-operated buggy locks on the lower ground floor.

- Café overlooking Whitworth Park, and three areas where you can eat your own packed lunch.

- Three baby changing areas and accessible toilets; nearest Changing Places is at Manchester Museum.
