The Rock in Bury switches on its own Christmas lights with a parade through the centre on the first Saturday of November. Expect festive characters, presenters from local radio on stage, performances from community groups and the centre's decorations lighting up for the season. It's free and there's nothing to book: gather from 4pm for a quarter-past-four start, wrap up warm and grab a hot chocolate.
