Tall Stories' musical stage version of the Julia Donaldson picture book, back for its 25th anniversary. Mouse walks through the deep dark wood meeting Fox, Owl and Snake, and talks his way out of trouble with tales of the Gruffalo. It lasts an hour and suits ages 3 and up. A visual guide is available to prepare children before the visit.

Good to know about Z-arts

Parking: No car park, but plenty of pay-and-display street parking nearby (postcode M15 5ZA). Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop is a 16-minute walk.
Buggies: Buggies welcome; for theatre shows you may need to leave them in the buggy park.
Food: Z-café (Tuesday to Saturday) does sandwiches, kids' picnic boxes and cakes, with high chairs and baby food heated.
Toilets: Baby change facilities, potties and toilet steps are available.
