Worsley switches on its lights by the canal opposite the Bridgewater Hotel, and Father Christmas arrives on an illuminated narrowboat with a flotilla of festive boats behind him. Children can post their Christmas lists in his post box and get a free drink and sweets; mulled wine and mince pies for grown-ups are £4. Listed on the local community calendar for Friday 4 December at 6.30pm; Worsley Village Community Association hasn't published it itself yet.
