Half-term at Jodrell Bank adds a Curious Kids science show with live experiments on weekdays, a free Halloween puzzle trail with a sticker and certificate, a drop-in space craft table and short outdoor talks about the Lovell Telescope, all in the price of admission. Space Dome films run through the day and the constellation playgrounds suit younger children. Arrive early for science show seats.

Parking: Free on-site car park; nearest stations are Goostrey (2.5 miles) and Macclesfield, both needing a taxi.
Buggies: Paved paths around the telescope and gardens, but the arboretum is grassy and can be muddy.
