Before Altrincham's Lantern Parade on Saturday 12 December, OYEZ Arts runs two hour-long lantern-making workshops in Altrincham Town Hall, at 12 noon and 2pm. Children and their grown-ups make a lantern together, then carry it in the parade, which sets off from Goose Green at 4.45pm with big lanterns, school lanterns and characters from the Gift of Christmas Trail, and ends with a show on the Stamford Square stage. Places cost £2 a person and are booked on the OYEZ Arts website. It makes a full afternoon with the trail around the town centre in between.
