Halloween Ghost Tour at Hoghton Tower is on on Saturday 31 October. It's about 55 minutes' drive from Timperley. Prices are £10 to £25 a ticket. You need to book ahead. It suits older children best, and it's indoors, so it works whatever the weather.

- Car park for 200 cars, a quarter-mile walk up a steep drive; some events charge a cash-only parking fee.

- No pushchairs on house tours (storage available); steep, uneven paths and steps, with no lifts.

- Tea Room open 11am to 4pm; picnics are not allowed.
- Toilets
- Baby change by the house toilets, up courtyard steps; a ramped accessible toilet in the Outer Courtyard.
